Annette Berning

Annette Berning is a Norwegian-born, NYC-based actress whose talent knows no borders. Born and raised in a trilingual, culture-obsessed household in Bergen, Norway, she now calls New York City home. With Norwegian, American, and German roots—and a heart that beats for Norway—Annette's journey into performing began at the age of three with the violin. Her boundless energy soon led her to ballet school, which became the gateway to singing and acting. Her spirited nature remains central to every performance, rehearsal, and audition. A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York, Annette also trained with the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her deep love for classic literature and theatre—Shakespeare, Chekhov, and Jane Austen in particular—shapes her artistic voice, though her range extends far beyond period pieces. Whether in a corset, as a futuristic android, or the girl next door, she brings authenticity and passion to every role. Her credits include award-winning performances in A Lone Star Love (Best Actress in a Short Film), the feature film Don’t Hang Up, and The Night We Met. Stage work includes Broadway Rising Stars ’17, Once: The Musical, and the International Chekhov Festival in Moscow. She is also the recipient of the Kurt Weill Foundation Emerging Talent Award.
